Another Day, Another Year

Today I woke up and I am one year older, one year more around the sun. I got up grabbed a granola bar and met up with my friend. She took me to her gym for a morning lifting class. It was a Hiit/crossfit type gym, I was able to push myself and get a good workout in. It felt amazing to be back lifting again, loud music blaring in the background as I push myself to do one more rep. It was a amazing way to start my birthday off right. I left pretty sweaty and stinky but feeling fantastic. I knew I was going be sore tomorrow. After we headed over to a burrito place near my school and each got a breakfast burrito( I got mine for freeee 🙂 ) The rest of the day I spent relaxing and catching up on homework. (well attempting too, I wasnt that focused but hey can you blame me? it is my birthday) Once 6 swing around I started getting ready for dinner, One of my friends I came here with, Meg, put together a small group of people ive become close to for us to head out to dinner and trivia (that was unplanned but happened to be on).

I was surrounded by good people who came to be there for me. I split my dinner with one of my friends who got a Hawaiian Parma and I got the special which was gnocchi with pork belly in a creamy white wine sauce. It was YUMMM! We all sat around drinking, laughing and trying to figure out the answers to the trivia questions. I looked around at the smiling faces that sat here in this pub and couldnt be more thankful to be have such good people in my life. Everyone has just been so kind here to me, taking me in and accepting me for me. The night continued on and we did not win trivia, but we did have heaps of fun. We danced in our seats to the music in between questions, we all laughed at the ridiculous answers we came up with to the questions. I came back home to a dark house and opened the door to all my house mates standing around with a cake and flowers. They all sang to me and wished me a happy Birthday. I wouldn’t have wanted my birthday to go any other way being away from home. I am so thankful to everyone who wished me a happy birthday and was there for me to make it a special day!
